Black Minecraft Skins

Black is the most common palette on the site and the easiest to get wrong. Pure black fills (#000000) lose all shape on the model, because Minecraft applies very little ambient shading and the edges between body parts vanish — you end up with a player-shaped hole rather than an outfit.

The skins that work use near-blacks with real tonal separation: charcoal panels against true black, a lighter seam, a flash of a second colour at the collar or cuff. Look at the previews for visible panel edges; that is what keeps the silhouette readable in game.
