Gray Minecraft Skins

Grey is the neutral that makes other colours work. On its own it produces understated, often quite elegant monochrome skins; used as a base it lets a single accent colour carry the whole design without competing with it. A lot of the best-looking skins on the site are mostly grey with one other colour in them.

It is also the most forgiving palette technically. Grey has none of black's flattening problem and none of white's blow-out problem, so shading behaves predictably and the model keeps its shape in every light level.
